For next 7-8 days I have ordered a local meal service company called Mighty Meals. At 13 bucks a meal they are cheaper or at par on a regular chipotle bowl. I have finished 3 meals and the food has been just flavorful and enough quantity to keep me full! I intend to cook as well so maybe this one time is enough for now I think, but what a good option to have!

I am a purist when it comes to South Indian food. Please for the love of humanity leave the dosa and idli alone. Some things are best experienced the way they are meant to be. I couldn’t care two hoots if you want to lather your aloo parantha with a layer of chocolate and top it off with a kilo of cheese, but for I plead you to STOP FUCKING AROUND WITH IDLIS AND DOSAS!

To be honest I don’t mind polio coming back. Not like it will impact me or my kid or my grand kids in future. I don’t give a fuck if it ruins a generation of kids and grand kids whose parents voted for Trump. You got what you wanted - live with it.

Family just landed in Bangalore for a 3 week vacation. This is the first time in 12 years that I and my family are going to be apart for that long. While i am jealous, there wasn’t much I could do because we couldn’t secure a good doggy care for Hobbes. Christmas + new years time means either care is too expensive or simply unavailable, and all our friends had their own plans. So yeah, the bright side of this is I and Hobbes will spend some quality time together next 3 weeks, while A will spend quality time with her parents back in their gorgeous town without pesky me - and her parents can devote full attention to her rather than son-in-law. R meanwhile gets best of all worlds spending time with all set of families on mine and A’s side and without me to annoy or discipline her she is a free bird!

But gosh, its only been 20 hours since they left but the loneliness is real!

Apple playgrounds does a good enough job with my kid’s and wife images, but try as I might it gets my avatar nowhere near right. Like nowhere near right. I didnt know I was such a hard subject for AI to decipher. I feel good about this!

Interesting that I couldn’t see the playgrounds app until I enabled ChatGPT in Apple intelligence settings.

My goodness, Indians really are fucking idiots. Saw videos of people bursting fireworks and giving a milk bath to Allu Arjun’s poster outside a theater in Chicago on eve of Pushpa 2’s release. These fucking morons are the ones I support Trump that they be deported without second thought. The mess, the waste, the absolute stupidity of it all - like fucking rescind their visas/GC/citizenships and send them back. I am ashamed to be calling them my own countrymen. Tysons Corner Mall should simply be renamed as Mall of the Emirates! Mall 2 which houses who’s who of super expensive brands is half jokingly referred to as Dubai Mall because you really don’t see anyone else there anymore (I mean they are the only people who can literally afford anything there!). Now even Mall 1, which is the larger and more traditional mall of the two has become the same. Of course it helps that Tysons and McLean area have a huge population of very rich middle easterners so its not very surprising to see it. Brings back memories of Kuwaiti malls from decades ago.

Today we did performance review of everyone across the board in my org. It usually is presided by HR and everyone has a frank conversation around teammates within their own teams and outside the teams. Heated debates are natural with each manager pitching their own report. In the end we thought we came to a fair conclusion and assigned ratings. Then HR turns around and says great, now you as an org have two abnormalities based on the ratings - 1, you have too many POC women with low ratings and 2/ you don’t have enough men with high ratings. We all thought we had a fair discussion on every single person in the org and yet the outcome of the exercise was flagged. So we spent another 2 hours after already spending 5 hours discussing bias, and whether we miscalibrated. We ran the whole process again only to come up 1 woman coming out of the group and 1 man moving up the chain. I hate performance reviews for this reason - there is just no good fucking way to ever evaluate people and no matter how much training you take when you put a collective number of people in a room some implicit bias will find its way. Ugh. This is the part of the job I absolutely hate.

I sincerely hate the days here when it rains nonstop entire day, or sometimes days together. Like I am ok with rain of few hours, but to sit through it from morning till night and with no relent, its absolutely miserable. Even more worse for the doggo that he can’t basically go out at all burn his energy and even his pee/poo breaks become a chore.

I honestly think BCCI is a better and less corrupt body than FIFA and thats saying something. Like Saudi Arabia hosting the world up in 2034 is basically money pit talking. At least BCCI simply refuses to play in UAE and around after the match fixing incidents in 90s.

Honestly, Mangione should just announce his candidacy for presidency in 2028. He may actually win considering his acts were not condemned on either side of aisle. He might be the Lisan Al Gaib to unite this broken nation.
