We recently ordered two orders of Karnataka special through Anna Sudha volunteer program. They gave us SO much food it will last us a few days! And it was so frigging yummy. Next up volunteering at this organization. We have always wanted to do something similar like this but I didn’t want to do a local based one. This one is primarily Indian run and while we volunteer, the added side effect is also knowing more people from Karnataka. So it’s two birds in one stone! Looking forward to it.

Dad was mentioning about how the digitization of economy has had some adverse health outcomes in India. I am like what are you talking about? He went off about my brother and general cultural shift in India where everything now is available at click of an app - be it BlinkIt, Swiggy or otherwise. He was lamenting how even the absolute most basic thing like a packet of milk, or some spices is delivered right to you within 20 mins or sometimes even 10 mins or less - which basically meant folks like my brother and lot of others are basically becoming lazy bricks who refuse to walk for basic things. He was like everyone’s like that now and how he hates it - and how he thinks just being mobile for 30 minutes a day in evening is not enough (he’s right!), and how everyone needs to be standing and walking at all times. He is infuriated that folks don’t even walk 10 minutes to a shop to get the most basic item, but will swipe on an app and the thing is available to you within no time. He is rightly foreseeing a major health crisis happening soon in India and was like I am actually glad life in USA is not that simple so it forces ya’all to actually go to store and walk! I was like, look, we have something we can agree on!
I keep thinking about this - we already know that SCOTUS is completely corrupt at this pt. Biden needs to expand the court even at the risk of political gamesmanship it will become. Make it 15 judges and point more liberal justices? What will the worst that can happen? Next Republican make it 21. Followed by another Democrat to make it 27 and so on. The SCOTUS is completely illegitimate and does not operate for the benefit and right of people. If the motherfuckers are using their position of power do so much harm let’s just dilute the whole thing all together. If Biden promises this heck I will donate even more haha. I am so sick and tired of watching the SCOTUS tear apart the moral fabric of this country while everyone keeps looking at each other with hmm, what to do now? look!

One day of sun today followed by another few days of rain. Thanks to the fucking trees however a single day of sunshine won’t cut it to dry out front yard or backyard. I really wish the fucking neighbors cut their trees and made it easy on everyone. The mother fuckers are all retired boomers who have nothing to do anyway so all they do is mow or clean their lawns day in and out - I am like, just come and do my lawns and backyards too assholes - ultimately it’s your trees that are making managing my land hard! 😆
Planning a trip to Scotland and part of me thinks its not the kind of place I’d enjoy. Like is it ever sunny and nice? All I see are pictures and videos that are gloomy, rainy and cold. But everyone around me swears by how gorgeous the place is.
Its been raining non stop for 2+ days now. I dont remember spring 15-17 years ago being like this. Sure, it always rains a lot in this area in April/May, but it used to be that it would rain ferociously for a few hours and then it would be cloudy or sunny for rest of the day. For the past few years seeing a trend where once we are under a cloud cover, we get incessant rains for days together before it clears out. Its fucking infuriating, but hey, climate change is upon us!

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, 2024 - ★★★½
I dont want Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies for storytelling, but to see a master visual artist in action. In that department, Heeramandi does not disappoint. Good music & terrific performances except one actor (who was just pathetic). But the visuals are just stunning. Bhansali has an eye for details and staging of a scene, and while some may call it all fake, every frame is like a painting. More than anything else I was awed by the visual artistry of the series and that alone got a couple of stars from me!
I feel bad for class of ‘2024 where all the graduation ceremonies are being canceled in colleges. These college grads are the same bunch of folks who also missed their high school graduation in ‘2020 due to Covid-19. Truly unlucky bunch of folks!

A 3 day swim meet weekend is exhausting on everyone - the parents and the kids. I feel like I actually worked more this weekend at the meet than my regular job. I am so ready for this weekend already. 🥱😴
Every time I read something new about J K Rowling I become more and more disappointed with her. I am so fucking glad that my kid got over her and Harry Potter very quickly once her terrible positions came out. To be clear, my kid fell out of love with Harry Potter purely because of J. K. Rowling and her horrid stance against transgender folks.
