Our community has end of school year water balloon fight custom. On the last day of school the parents and older kids wait with water balloons for their kids to be dropped off by bus at bus stop. The moments kids drop off from bus a wild water balloon fight ensues between parents and kids! It’s taken very seriously by residents and is a lot of fun!

At the swim meet talking to another parent and we talked about Seattle and homelessness problem and she goes “I heard they defunded the police!” And that was my cue to end the conversation right there.

Yet another swim meet this weekend and this one began at 6 each day which meant waking up at 5 both days of weekend ugh! On the plus side we will be done before lunch time both days.

I love how the tone has changed from Trump won’t get any immunity from scotus to now he will have “some” immunity. When will the fucking stupid Americans realize they have a fundamentally corrupt justice system and scotus? The motherfucker will get what he wants from scotus and all legal “experts” will be left with pikachu faces.

Hahaha if your idea of a romance is to get mugged, shot or killed, sure it IS a very romantic city.

Much needed rain soaked day today followed by next 10 days of blissful sun - that’s how I like my spring and summer. It must rain every 10 days is my rule!

I’ve been listening to Taylor Swift’s new album for the last week and I am definitely enjoying it, but I wish it wasn’t as glum. That said I really it when artists haven’t succumbed yet to creating music with streaming listens in mind. Most artists create songs today that are just optimized for streaming listens (Shorter lengths, catchy hooks etc, less songs in an album and more singles) - its refreshing to see Taylor just create a massive double album and create music as she feels fit instead of succumbing to streaming market! I still need time to figure out which songs I really like from this album but who’s afraid of little old me? is a definite standout.

After the initial shock of reading it has wore off, I wonder if Kristi Noem actually shot a 14 month toddler and killed a child but decided to change it to a dog for the book coz in her mind she thought it might read better? Republicans are so disgustingly vile people that if it turned out she actually killed a 14 month old toddler I wouldn’t actually be totally shocked. And you know what, their base will still lap her up and vote for her.

Hitting the pike place market area, getting dried fruit and eating lobster rolls is a common thing I do on most Seattle trips. This year was a definite **surprise **. The area was dead, with homeless and druggies everywhere (though not as quite as bad as sfo my colleague said). I just felt weirdly grossed out and unsafe. It’s a pity just half a decade ago this area was hustling and bustling. This homelessness problem is going to be the bane of all large cities in coming years, especially democratic.

After almost a year since we started, we have the last few episodes of Modern Family to finish as a family. In retrospect the show holds up much better than it felt like back then, especially the criticisms o the later seasons when the kids become adults. Watched back to back the transition doesn’t seem jarring, and while it doesn’t retain the hilarity of earlier seasons, the later seasons are not bad at all. That said I am never going to forgive what a mess they made of Haley, the most interesting character on the show, the only character who actually grows in the show while everyone else in the show practically remains the same. Still, watching Modern Family each evening as a family was one of our must-do things everyday. Its going to be tough to fill this void!

Wouldn’t it be nice if New York Times came out and said they were actually The National Inquirer? Because thats all they really are at this point. Fucking pricks - I am so glad that I stopped subscribing to them years ago and wish that newspaper nothing but the worst. I used to subscribe to WaPo as well but stopped it two years ago because they too started similar nonsense.

Shōgun, 2024 - ★★★★

That ending was nothing like I thought it would be and yet it was perfect.

Last night at Seattle airport I almost got into an unforced altercation with a black woman. She was so aggressive and loud it made me just very uncomfortable. She was angry about something stuck to her bag and she assumed randomly I did that. I was sleepy and I do not like confronting these kind of people in public so I told her firmly that I didnt do it, but I am happy to clean that bag with a tissue (and I did), apologized to her and moved on. Then a minute later she comes to me again all nice and says, oh do you work for X company? I saw you on the same plane as me coming into Seattle. Turns out she works in retail side of the company and reports to a different director. Her whole body demeanor then changed to oh how she was misled by another woman on the side to think it was me. Back of my mind I was like fuck you bitch, there was no reason to start creating a scene for that but I was like fuck these kind of people. Said my pleasantries and goodbyes and moved on, and I promised myself if this POS ever came looking for a job in my team, the answer will be a handsome no.

But but but I am sure the suburban white moms of Idaho really do not want their kids learning about CRT even if it means their daughters could die for being pregnant. Got it!

I sincerely hope the Biden admin is paying attention to the student protests. It will cost him the election if keeps ignoring them and keep enabling the terrorist leader of Israel. About time USA took some steps to remove him out of picture. At this point I won’t be surprised if Netanyahu drops a nuclear bomb and completely get away with it.

I say this again when the sun is out there is no more prettier city than Seattle

Today I had a Filipino breakfast of eggs, fried veggie roll and garlic rice along with lots of Filipino condiments. It was fucking delicious to say the least! Gonna make that a part of my staple Seattle eats. Tonight though is at Dukes seafood which is another of my favorites - beautiful view and great food - what else do you want?

Every time I visit Seattle I feel like the homelessness situation here gets worse and worse.

When smoke meets light.

My heart goes out to all the Columbia students of Israeli origin who suddenly discovered how it feels to live like the Palestinians do on a daily basis.
