I often feel like going on vacations where you have the luxury of time to explore places. But the urge to see as much as possible often wins out in favor of pace. Like for example our London-Paris trip. Knowing that it was going to be an expensive trip, we crammed in so much in 8 days its not funny. We were going from one place to another, as if ticking check boxes on a sheet - not that it was not fun (it was!), but it also left us feeling a little drained. But then, when you have limited number of days considering school, summer being worst travel times, the urge to see it all trumps sitting in a garden and just watching time pass by.
Thats why I always miss my Greece vacation. We spent a good 15 days in the country, explored the country on our terms and came out refreshed and energized. It didnt feel like we wanted to go back to Greece again because we covered it all. I wish we could have vacations like that again where every day is not a 10 mile hike to see places and check boxes!
