We saw Laal Singh Chaddha on Netflix last night and can’t understand the vitriol the movie got. We thought it was a reasonably well made adaption of Forrest Gump, though the key issue is that while Forrest is a part of history of his own actions, for most part Laal just happens to be around when major events take place - and that diluted the impact. It would have been better had they tried to weave him into history rather than just a passerby to most events.

Aamir Khan’s performance is so uneven - his younger self is a pain to watch with that PK gimmicky look, but he is just incredible as the older Laal, and ridiculously effortless. Good one time watch.
