So Meta is going to ask middle managers to either code or get out? Thats not actually a bad strategy! Is it an ideal strategy? No, but one thing that ails pretty much all tech companies is the lack of technical acumen in middle management, and they end up becoming bottlenecks to pretty much anything and everything. Way too many non technical managers are involved in product & tech decision making which is not their forte.
