So Geoffrey Hinton quit his cushiony job at Google where he was the VP of AI (and VP positions at Google get paid millions a year), so that he could speak “freely” about dangers of AI? Sure, if I was a VP at FAANG for more than a decade I’d quite too to speak “freely”. The most likely scenario is that he was finally held accountable for being “father” of AI and having missed the chatGPT train completely.
