Volunteering at summer swim trials except it’s a ice 60 degree spring morning and everyone is shivering around the pool. Hopefully the kids will be allright. Also, it’s fucking summer break for so many kids - why not just get teenagers to volunteer and pay them money to do so? Using family community building as an excuse just feels so scammy to me especially when there are so many teenagers and high schoolers about to head out to college who could make good use of the earnings. But no, let’s get parents involved on pretext of community so we don’t have to pay anyone.
