One of the most common gripes I keep hearing from my team is how they are not empowered to do what they want to do. And yet when I task them with a responsibility and assign ownership, most folks spend half their time trying to shrug off the said ownership and responsibility. Then the same folks sit on side and become armchair critics complaining about how nothing is going well and things would be different if only they were consulted. Except, they were. But when they were tasked with that ownership, they want nothing to do with it anymore.
