First Slack decided on its own that they can train on customer data without opt-in, and now OpenAI decided to model a voice character on Scarlet Johansson in spite of her telling them no. This is exactly why I am simply opposed to these companies taking my data without my permission to do whatever the fuck they want in the name of some common good and training AI it seems.
OpenAI just seems like a scam company. Their work is amazing, but jeez, its incredible how entitled the motherfuckers feel over your data. But I guess this is not a unique problem to them. Every company wants to use your data, without attribution or payback but to make something to charge you back. In some cases, like Scarlet found out, even saying no isn’t enough. Where the fuck is the limit anymore?
