Elon Musk buying a vote for 47$ is literally the way Indian election works for most part. You promise money or equivalent gifts to get the vote. I never, ever thought I’d see this happen in America also! That said, even while a lot of Indian electorate is uneducated and don’t really know who/why they are voting for, the Indian election commission still tries to ensure that voting is accessible to every citizen in India no matter how far, remote or completely out of the way they are. There is every effort made to ensure voting access, no matter whether people even care or understand what/they are voting for. I just feel like every election voting rights and access are going backwards in USA. Now combined with straight out bribes to get your votes, this country is heading in a dark direction.
