I have a nice problem that I have two candidates to choose from for another role I had open in my team. Both aced their interviews. One candidate is someone I know from my previous job, is junior, and is hungry for a job. Candidate is someone i trust to get shit done, and would be happy to have the opportunity to learn. The second candidate is more experienced, with solid background in the specific domains we are looking at, and comes with an impressive resume. However I feel like this candidate may eventually be unhappy because they were hired at a lower level than they should be, and because the experience is such a good fit, they’d probably have nothing to learn. I know whom I am going for at this point, but I will reveal that later :)
