Recently came to know “beta” is a mocking term used by a lot of non-Indian kids to mock and bully Indian kids in schools, especially middle schools, more prominently amongst boys. It’s all over here apparently and our kid knows it too but says it’s mostly boys. Beta is often also delivered in Indian accent.
